Я сделал все возможное, чтобы соблюсти конфиденциальность. Я изменил имена и все прочие идентифицирующие характеристики, чтобы сохранить анонимность моих пациентов, не искажая сути проделанной с ними работы. В тех случаях, когда у меня возникали какие-либо сомнения, я показывал пациентам черновик рукописи и просил высказать свои соображения или замечания: все они охотно согласились поделиться своими переживаниями, многие из них выразили надежду, что публикация их историй поможет другим людям.
