They are going to marry her to a rich old knight. I don't want to live without her. Take my ten pence, and let me die.»
«Tell me your name (назови мне свое имя)» said Robin Hood.
«My name is Alan-a-Dale (меня зовут Алан Дейл).»
«And you have no money (и у тебя нет денег),» said Robin Hood, «so what will you give me to get her back for you (поэтому что ты мне дашь за то, что я верну ее тебе; to get back — вернуться; получить назад)? I am Robin Hood (я — Робин Гуд).»

«My name is Alan-a-Dale.»
«And you have no money,» said Robin Hood, «so what will you give me to get her back for you? I am Robin Hood.»

Robin Hood ran with Alan-a-Dale and some of his men (Робин Гуд побежал с Аланом Дейлом и несколькими своими людьми). They didn't stop, and they got to the church before anybody (они не останавливались /по дороге/, поэтому они оказались в церкви самыми первыми: «прежде кого бы то ни было»). Alan-a-Dale and the outlaws hid (Алан Дейл и разбойники спрятались; to hide — прятать/ся/), and only Robin went into the church (и только Робин вошел в церковь). He took a harp with him, and he waited (он взял с собой арфу и стал ждать).
A fat churchman came into the church (упитанный священник вошел в церковь; fat — жирный, толстый).

Robin Hood ran with Alan-a-Dale and some of his men. They didn't stop, and they got to the church before anybody. Alan-a-Dale and the outlaws hid, and only Robin went into the church. He took a harp with him, and he waited.
A fat churchman came into the church.
«What are you doing here (что ты здесь делаешь)?» he asked Robin (спросил он у Робина).
«I'm a harper (я арфист),» said Robin. «I'm the best harper in the north of England (я самый лучший арфист на севере Англии).»
«Oh, welcome (о, добро пожаловать)!» said the churchman. «I love harp music (мне нравится музыка арфы = игра на арфе). What will you play for me (что ты мне сыграешь; to play — порхать, носиться; исполнять музыкальное произведение)?»

«I'm a harper,» said Robin. «I'm the best harper in the north of England.»

Just then, a rich knight came into the church (именно в этот момент в церковь вошел богатый рыцарь). He was old, and ugly, and fat (он был старым, уродливым и толстым; ugly — некрасивый, уродливый). A very pretty young woman came and stood unhappily beside him (очень милая/прелестная молодая женщина вошла и встала с несчастным видом рядом с ним).
«This isn't right (это неправильно)!» cried Robin Hood. «This young woman mustn't marry that old man (эта молодая женщина не должна выходить замуж за этого старика). It isn't fair (это нечестно). —But I came to make music (но я пришел, чтобы сыграть музыку). Listen (слушайте).»
But they didn't hear Robin's harp (но они не услышали арфу Робина). They heard him sound his horn, three times (но они услышали звуки его рожка, три раза).

But they didn't hear Robin's harp. They heard him sound his horn, three times.
Twenty-four brave bowmen came running to the church (двадцать четыре храбрых лучника вбежали в церковь). And Alan-a-Dale brought Robin's bow and gave it to him (Алан Дейл принес лук Робина и отдал его ему). The bowmen stood round the people in church, with arrows ready (лучники встали вокруг людей, находившихся в церкви, со стрелами наготове).
The pretty young woman ran to Alan-a-Dale (прелестная молодая женщина подбежала к Алану Дейлу), and he held her in his arms (и он сжал ее в своих объятиях; to hold — держать; arm — рука /от плеча до кисти/; to hold smb. in one's arms — обнимать, держать кого-либо в своих объятиях).
«Marry them (пожени их),» Robin said to the churchman (сказал Робин священнику).
