Учитывая нестабильность личностных характеристик у детей, прогнозировать будущее развитие личности на основе наблюдений, сделанных в дошкольном и школьном возрасте, рискованно. По крайней мере, в некоторых детях в будущем непременно произойдут резкие эмоциональные, мотивационные или социальные изменения. Однако у индивидов, начиная с возрастного интервала от 20 до 30 лет, большинство личностных качеств, согласно имеющимся данным, обретают стабильность.
