"Were there any knights who fought bravely at the side of our King?" asked Cedric. "Richard is a Norman, of course, but I'll have to forgive him for that."

"Yes," replied the pilgrim from his dark corner beside the fireplace, "there were many very famous knights who fought with our brave King, but none of them were Templars! One of the knights with King Richard was young and less well known, however, and I don't remember his name."

"Unbelieving dog!" he said to Isaac. "So you are on your way to see the tournament at Ashby? I'm sure that you have a lot of money hidden away somewhere."

"Money (денег)? But I am a poor man (но я бедный человек)!" exclaimed Isaac (воскликнул Исаак). "Even the clothes that I wear (даже одежда, которую я ношу) are borrowed from a friend (занята у друга; to borrow — занимать, брать на время)."

"Liar (лжец)!" Let me guide you through the forest tonight so you can at least reach Sheffield safely."
